Principal Staff Officers from the Naval Headquarters, led by the Deputy Chief Staff Officer (DCSO) Naval Administration, Naval Captain Isaac Aratuo, engaged personnel of the Naval Training Command (NAVTRAC) on administrative policies, welfare matters, and standards of professional conduct within the Ghana Navy.
Speaking on administrative matters at the School of Maritime Operations (SMOPS), Nutekpor on Tuesday, 17 March 2026, Naval Captain Aratuo underscored the importance of discipline, accountability, and proper conduct in service. He further addressed the welfare concerns of personnel, urging them to make judicious use of available support systems and continue to remain professional in the discharge of their duties.In his remarks, the DCSO Policy and Plans, Naval Captain Douglas Yaw Akotey, highlighted key policy directions of the Service, and emphasised the importance of adherence to laid down regulations and strategic guidelines, adding that personnel need to remain committed to institutional values and align their duties with the broader objectives of the Ghana Navy.The Director Naval Public Relations, Naval Captain Andrews La-Anyane, addressed the troops on the responsible use of social media. He cautioned personnel against the misuse of digital platforms, stressing the need to protect the image and integrity of the Ghana Navy at all times. He further cautioned personnel to be mindful of the content they share, noting that operational security and professionalism must not be compromised.Speaking at the durbar, the Gender Adviser to the Chief of the Naval Staff, Naval Captain Cecilia Amoo-Welsing, in her remarks, mentioned the need to uphold gender sensitivity and inclusivity within the Service. She encouraged personnel to maintain respect for one another and also support ongoing efforts aimed at promoting equal opportunities and a conducive working environment.In his remarks, the Director Naval Religious Affairs, Commander David Benedict Mensah Quayson, spoke on the importance of family life and faithfulness, encouraging personnel to maintain strong family values and moral discipline. He noted that a stable home contributes significantly to effective service delivery and personal well-being.
