The Eastern Naval Command (ENC) held its second Religious Church Parade on Wednesday, 15 July 2026, at the Junior Rate Mess, Naval Base Tema.
Held under the theme “Renewing Commitment to Duty and Faith”, the event united Officers, Ratings, and Defence Civilian Staff in a gathering of thanksgiving, reflection, and recommitment to duty and faith.
The Chaplain, Lt Cdr Sylvanus Dogodzi, delivered the sermon and emphasised that “Our service is to God, not to earthly superiors”. He highlighted the importance of diligence and integrity in military and Christian life, encouraging personnel to maintain faith despite challenges, as efforts in the Lord are never in vain.
In his address, the Flag Officer Commanding, ENC, Commodore Solomon Asiedu-Larbi, underscored the importance of renewing professional and spiritual commitments. He stressed that commitment to duty correlates to excellence and urged all personnel to engage fully in their roles, aspiring to uphold the highest standards.
He acknowledged the ideals of nationalism and teamwork established by predecessors while calling for vigilance in an evolving security landscape. Commodore Asiedu-Larbi encouraged spiritual renewal and commitment to service, while recognizing the vital support of families.
