The Ghana Navy has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening collaboration with the Petroleum Commission to safeguard Ghana’s offshore oil and gas assets and enhance maritime security within the country’s maritime domain.
This was made during a courtesy call by Consultant, Petroleum Security, Mr Emmanuel Basintale Amadu, at the Petroleum Commission, on the Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS), Rear Admiral Godwin Livinus Bessing, at the Naval Headquarters on Thursday 16 July 2026.
During the engagement, Mr Basintale commended the Ghana Navy for its vital role in protecting offshore petroleum infrastructure and ensuring safe maritime operations. He stressed the importance of sustained cooperation between the two institutions through information sharing and coordinated efforts to protect critical national assets.
In response, Rear Admiral Bessing underscored the importance of protecting Ghana’s offshore oil and gas assets as a shared national responsibility, noting that effective collaboration among key stakeholders remains essential to sustaining a secure maritime environment. He reaffirmed the Ghana Navy’s readiness to continue working closely with the Petroleum Commission and other relevant institutions to safeguard the country’s maritime resources.
