NAVAL HEADQUARTERS COMMENCES BASIC IMAGERY INTELLIGENCE COURSE 1-26
The Naval Headquarters has commenced a three (3)-week Basic Imagery Intelligence Course 1-26 with the aim of equipping personnel with the requisite skills to collect, interpret, and analyse images for informed decision-making.
The course began on Tuesday, 17 March 2026, bringing together fifteen (15) participants with support from instructors from the European Union Security and Defence Initiative, Gulf of Guinea. Through lectures, practical sessions, group tasks, and structured exercises, participants will gain hands-on experience in imagery intelligence.
In his opening remarks, the Deputy Chief Staff Officer in charge of Operations and Training at the Naval Headquarters, Commodore Steve Nyam, highlighted the importance of the course and stressed the need for participants to apply the knowledge they will gain to strengthen maritime security. He also urged them to remain professional and disciplined throughout the training period.
The course reflects the Navy’s strategic effort to enhance operational readiness and strengthen maritime security cooperation within the Gulf of Guinea.
