The Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS), Rear Admiral Godwin Livinus Bessing, has urged participants of Batch 62 to apply the knowledge acquired during a Resettlement Seminar to build self-reliant and productive lives.
He made this statement during the closing ceremony of the Batch (BT) 62 Resettlement Seminar held on Friday, 24 April 2026, at the Naval Headquarters, as part of efforts to adequately prepare personnel for a smooth transition into life beyond active military service.
Rear Admiral Bessing commended the participants for their 30 years of dedicated and selfless service to the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) and the nation at large, noting that their professionalism and commitment had significantly contributed to safeguarding Ghana’s peace and stability.
The CNS encouraged them to remain disciplined, resilient and forward-looking as they prepare to transition from active service, stating that the leadership, experience, and values they have developed over the years would continue to be invaluable to national development even beyond their military careers. He also expressed appreciation to the organisers, stakeholders, and sponsors of the Seminar for their support towards its successful execution.
The Seminar included a series of presentations and discussions designed to prepare participants for life after active service, covering areas such as entrepreneurship, retirement preparation, self-reliance and psychological well-being, with additional sessions addressing health, housing, land acquisition, financial management, family life, and legal issues.
The ceremony featured the presentation of plaques to all participants of BT 62 in recognition of their dedicated service to the GAF and Navy in particular.
