The Eastern Naval Command (ENC) has held its Third Quarter Religious Parade and induction service for the Flag Officer Commanding (FOC) ENC, Commodore Raymond Kyaano, at the Junior Rate Mess, Tema, on Wednesday 21 October 2026.
Held under the theme, “Steering with Faith, God’s Wisdom and Discernment,” the service marked the end of the third quarter and offered personnel an opportunity to thank God for His guidance while seeking wisdom and direction for the final quarter of the year.
Delivering the sermon, the Command Chaplain, Reverend Father Lieutenant Commander Sylvanus Dogodzi, urged personnel to rely on God’s wisdom in their professional duties and personal lives. Drawing lessons from Proverbs 3:5–8, he noted that human understanding has limitations and that faith, prayer and discernment are essential for making sound decisions. He encouraged officers and ratings to remain committed to their responsibilities and seek divine guidance when faced with difficult choices.
In his inaugural address, Commodore Kyaano said effective naval service required more than professional competence, training and equipment. He explained that faith, discipline, integrity and responsibility are equally important, using navigation at sea to illustrate the need for vigilance and sound judgement. He noted that leaders must make decisions that protect lives, national security and the welfare of personnel.
