The School of Maritime Operations (SMOPS) of the Naval Training Command (NAVTRAC) has commenced a Simulator Instructors and Technicians Course at the SMOPS Auditorium, NAVTRAC, Nutekpor.
The course is aimed at equipping selected officers and operators with the requisite knowledge, skills and competence to effectively conduct simulator-based training and undertake the technical management and maintenance of simulator equipment.
The Guest of Honour and Commanding Officer of SMOPS, Naval Captain Michael Cudjoe, urged the participants to take the course seriously and make full use of the knowledge and expertise of the facilitators. He emphasised the importance of developing the requisite technical competence to operate and maintain the simulators effectively, noting that proper management of the systems would contribute to realistic and effective training for personnel of the Ghana Navy.
As part of the course, two instructors from Denmark have been engaged to facilitate the training and provide participants with specialised knowledge and practical guidance in simulator instruction and technical operations.
The training is expected to enhance the capacity of personnel responsible for simulator operations and maintenance, while strengthening NAVTRAC’s ability to deliver effective and realistic training through its simulation facilities.
The course further reinforces NAVTRAC’s commitment to developing technically competent personnel and leveraging modern training systems to enhance the professional and operational readiness of the Ghana Navy.
