Reverend Father Sub Lieutenant Sebastian Enyonam Dorgbetor of the Ghana Navy launched three inspirational books to promote hope, resilience and hard work in support of an educational initiative for children in Akatsi. The launch took place at Saint Catherine Catholic Church, Burma Camp, on Friday, 13 March 2026.
The books “Something Good in Everything I See,” “Something Good in Everything I Do,” and “Something Good in Everything I Hope For” encourage optimism, perseverance and faith in humanity, highlighting the power of hope and determination in overcoming challenges and building positive attitudes toward life.
The Minority Leader and Member of Parliament for Effutu Constituency, Alexander Afenyo-Markin, represented the Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin, as Guest of Honour. He commended the initiative and donated to support the initiative.
The Deputy Minister for Defence, Ernest Brogya Genfi, assisted by the Chief of the Naval Staff, Godwin Livinus Bessing, officially unveiled the first book, “Something Good in Everything I Do,” marking the symbolic launch of the publications.
Chairing the event, the Chief of the Naval Staff commended Father Enyonam for the initiative and his dedication to inspiring young minds. He encouraged the public to read the books and embrace the values of resilience, unity and hope they promote.
In his remarks, Reverend Father Sub Lieutenant Sebastian Enyonam Dorgbetor expressed appreciation to all supporters and contributors for the encouragement and honour shown him, noting that the initiative seeks to inspire young people while supporting educational development in Akatsi.
The event was attended by several dignitaries, including the Minister for Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Hon Abla Dzifa Gomashie, former Chief of the Defence Staff, Lieutenant General Peter Augustine Blay (Retired), Commandant Training and Doctrine Command, Rear Admiral Arhen, Chief Staff Officer at the Naval Headquarters, Commodore Ben Baba Abdul, among other senior officers.
