The Master Coxswain of the Ghana Navy, Fleet Chief Petty Officer Class One (FCPO1) Johnson Isaiah Chriss, has paid a working visit to the Eastern Naval Command (ENC) in Tema as part of his ongoing familiarisation tour of Naval establishments.
The engagement, held on Tuesday, 12 May 2026, provided a platform for interaction between the Master Coxswain and personnel of the Command on issues relating to discipline, welfare, operational readiness and career progression within the Ghana Navy.
Addressing the personnel, FCPO1 Johnson Isaiah Chriss underscored the importance of discipline as a fundamental pillar of military professionalism. He urged personnel to uphold the core values of the Ghana Navy and avoid conduct that could undermine the image and integrity of the Service.
He further advocated for sustained professional development through rigorous training, personal growth, and strict adherence to operational standards. FCPO1 Chriss highlighted the critical role of physical fitness in enhancing operational effectiveness and readiness.
The Master Coxswain also highlighted the significance of welfare systems within the Service and encouraged personnel to actively support welfare initiatives aimed at improving the well-being of service members and their families.
On career advancement, he advised leveraging available educational and developmental opportunities to build competencies and assume greater responsibilities within the Service. He therefore called upon all personnel to maintain discipline and actively seek out training opportunities.
