Personnel of the Ghana Armed Forces, together with Sister Security Services, delivered an impressive display of drill, discipline, and precision during the celebration of Ghana’s 69th Independence Anniversary at the Jubilee House on Friday, 6 March 2026.
The parade, commanded by Commander Kwadwo Nyarko Ansong, Director of Special Projects at Naval Headquarters, showcased professionalism, coordination, and operational readiness of the Ghana Armed Forces, particularly the Ghana Navy, in a remarkable demonstration of military excellence.The ceremony was further enlivened by the stirring tunes of the Ghana Armed Forces Central Band, whose musical performance added colour and ceremonial dignity to the national celebration.Addressing the nation on the theme “Building Prosperity, Restoring Hope,” the President of the Republic and Commander-in-Chief of the Ghana Armed Forces, John Dramani Mahama, emphasised the importance of national unity, collective responsibility, and renewed commitment towards building a prosperous Ghana.The participation of the Ghana Navy in the national celebration reaffirms its unwavering dedication to safeguarding Ghana’s maritime domain and supporting national peace, security, and development.Prime Minister of Saint Kitts and Nevis, Dr Terrance Michael Drew, was the Special Guest of Honour for the occasion. The military high command and other distinguished dignitaries graced the occasion.
