A delegation from the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) Health Services paid a working visit to the Naval Training Command (NAVTRAC) on Monday 27 July 2026, at the Command Headquarters, Nutekpor.The delegation, led by the Deputy Director of Nursing, Lieutenant Colonel Linus Saaweh, paid a courtesy call on the Flag Officer Commanding (FOC) NAVTRAC, Commodore James Adongo Agambire, as part of a visit to assess healthcare delivery and strengthen collaboration between the GAF Health Services and the Command.
Receiving the delegation, the FOC NAVTRAC, Commodore James Adongo Agambire, welcomed the team and expressed appreciation for the visit. He highlighted the critical role of quality healthcare in maintaining the operational readiness and welfare of personnel and expressed confidence that the engagement would contribute to improving medical services at the Command. He reaffirmed NAVTRAC's commitment to supporting initiatives aimed at enhancing healthcare delivery for personnel and their families.
During the visit, the delegation was briefed by the Senior Medical Officer (SMO) of the NAVTRAC Medical Centre, Naval Lieutenant Kevin Atikpui, on the facility's operations, healthcare services, staffing, and challenges. They subsequently toured the Medical Centre, where they inspected various departments and assessed the available medical infrastructure and equipment.
Speaking during the engagement, Lieutenant Colonel Linus Saaweh commended the Medical Centre for its commitment in providing quality healthcare services to personnel and their families despite existing challenges. He noted that the visit formed part of efforts by the GAF Health Services to identify areas requiring support and to ensure that military medical facilities continue to meet the healthcare needs of personnel. He assured the Command of the Directorate's commitment to improving healthcare delivery across the Ghana Armed Forces.
The visit concluded with further discussions on improving medical service delivery and a renewed commitment to strengthening collaboration between the GAF Health Services and NAVTRAC in support of the health and wellbeing of personnel.
