The family of Commander John Arthur Kofi Adiku (Rtd), paid a courtesy call on the Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS), Rear Admiral Godwin Livinus Bessing, at the Naval Headquarters on Tuesday 28 July 2026. Leading the delegation, Cdr Adiku (Rtd) said the visit was to express appreciation to the CNS and the Ghana Navy, for the honour bestowed on him through the naming of the slipway at the Naval Shipyard in Sekondi last month.
The slipway was named in recognition of Commander Adiku’s pioneering role as the first Commanding Officer of the Naval Shipyard and his immense contribution to the development of the Ghana Navy’s engineering and maintenance capabilities. He expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the Ghana Navy for the recognition, stating that he deemed it important to personally thank the CNS for the honour accorded him.In response, Rear Admiral Bessing thanked Commander Adiku (Rtd) and his family for the visit and the thoughtful gesture.
