The Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS), Rear Admiral Godwin Livinus Bessing, has urged participants of Strategic Leadership Course 2-2026 of the National College of Defence Studies (NCDS) to apply the knowledge they acquire to advance national development.
Rear Admiral Godwin Livinus Bessing made the call on Monday, 9 March 2026, as the Guest of Honour during the opening ceremony of the course at the Defence Mechanical Transport Battalion Auditorium.
He indicated that leaders face complex challenges in a multifaceted security and governance environment, adding that the course will equip participants with the tools and insights needed to navigate uncertainty and make sound strategic decisions.
The CNS encouraged participants to make a lasting impact through responsible leadership and dedicated service, reminding them that true leaders serve as custodians of national development and guide institutions toward the future.
The Commandant of NCDS, Major General Frederick Dankyi Ntiri, said the course aims at strengthening strategic leadership for institutional and international development. He added that the two-week intellectual course brings together forty-five (45) participants from the military, public service, academia, and civil sectors to help in addressing real-world leadership demands.
