The Chief of the Naval Staff, Rear Admiral Godwin Livinus Bessing interacted with Ratings of Basic Training (BT) 61 of the 1995-year group, at the Naval Headquarters on Wednesday 14 May 2025 in Burma Camp.
The interaction was aimed at expressing Ghana Navy’s gratitude to them, for their three decades of selfless and dedicated service to the Armed Forces and the nation as a whole, marking a transition from military to civil life.
The retirees expressed their gratitude to the Ghana Navy for the opportunity given them to contribute to the protection of Ghana’s maritime resources and the overall development of the country.
The gathering also afforded them the opportunity to discuss some challenges they encountered in exercising their duties in the defense of the nation, while making some recommendations to the service.
Rear Admiral Bessing, in his remarks thanked BT 61 for their unwavering support, loyalty and dedication to the Ghana Armed Forces, and the Navy in particular, wishing them well in their future endeavours.
The Special Guest for the occasion, the immediate past Chief of the Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Issah Adam Yakubu (Rtd), in his remarks congratulated them on their 30 years of dedicated service to the Ghana Navy while urging them to maintain the discipline, dedication and professionalism in ensuring a successful reintegration into civil society.
