The Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS), Rear Admiral Goodwin Livinus Bessing, has called for sustained focus on science, technology and innovation in military healthcare to keep pace with the changing demands of healthcare delivery and military operations.
He made this remark during a cocktail reception hosted for Naval officers of the 37 Military Hospital at Anchor House, Cantonments. The reception formed part of the CNS’s engagement with the officers and his commitment, as Chairman of the 37 Military Hospital Advisory Board, to supporting the hospital’s mission and enhancing excellence in service delivery.
In his remarks, the CNS commended the officers for balancing their responsibilities as healthcare professionals and military personnel, stressing the need for exceptional commitment, particularly during operational deployments and humanitarian missions, where professionalism and dedication remain indispensable. He encouraged the officers to pursue continuous learning and professional development to strengthen their capacity to meet emerging challenges. The CNS further urged them to remain committed to discipline and integrity in the discharge of their duties, as they continue to uphold the highest standards of military and medical service.
The Principal Ophthalmic Nurse, Lieutenant Commander Gloria Osei Appiah, expressed appreciation to the CNS for his inspiring remarks, continued support, and the valuable interaction with the officers on behalf of the officers of 37 Military Hospital.
